www.PrintOrigin.com is a European B2B trading hub for the Print Industry. Craig McFadyen was appointed as technical team lead and head developer for the eProcurement section of the site responsible for a team of 5 developers. The eProcurement section allowed buyers and suppliers of print services to competitivly interact and place orders.

Upon receipt for the requirements specification the team analysed the requirements and produced detailed functional and technical specifications.

Once the specification were approved by the client they were then used to produce the architecture and carry the project through to implementation and “on schedule” deployment to a load balanced Compaq rack in the Esat X hosting facility.

eProcurement modules were: Catalog, Request For Quotation (RFQ), Quotations, Requisitions, and Orders.

These modules were handling approximately IR£100,000 of business per month.

3-tier architecture. The Front end developed using ASP, XML and XSLT talking to VB COM objects under MTS. Data layer accessed using stored procedures in SQL Server. Also incorporating MSMQ integration to backend “Process Manager” workflow system.
